FINALLY
We will take this agreement to VCAT tomorrow to be made into a VCAT order.
Put simply, we have agreed to begin returning the property to it’s original condition over the next four months. By the end of September we will have relocated our plants, our poultry and ourselves to suitable homes and restored the lawn.
Thanks for all the support, advice and help, it’s been greatly appreciated, and it does seem that we have together created a positive outcome. We need to sit quietly and breathe for just a minute now…

good to see a positive outcome, it's a sort of win for you & Cat.

Codemo's members have been waiting for the good news about the end of this dificult matter, we feel glad that this situation took a good resolution, but either ways we always support our friends Dan Cat and Adrian and we will continue helping each other as we been doing it since Permaculture gave us a new perspective of life.

Hooray!
Too bad you need to move, but good that it was settled to your satisfaction.
Good on you for always staying positive and non-confrontational; you've demonstrated not only what can and hopefully, will be done in the not too distant future, in gardens in cities the world over, but how to act gracefully and kindly even in trying times.
So very sad your beautiful oasis has to go, but I'm sure there are better things ahead for you and that maybe it was meant. Thanks for making and sharing your garden with so many who have benefitted and been inspired from spending even a little time there.
best, Di
Alex had trouble posting this comment so I'm posting it for him - thanks Alex - a neat way of thinking about it - I am planning to admire the taste of a few broccolis though before the tide of lawn-loving conservatism washes the garden away ;-):
The documentary film, Jagmandir, features a group of buddhist monks creating a coloured-sand mandala. The last movement, without the slightest pause to admire their intricate work, is to sweep it away. That's impermenence. The last act of your marvelous creation will be to sweep it away. There's a strange beauty in that. I suppose it's not such a bad outcome.
Cheers,
Alex
