Here's the house from across the road - what a peaceful scene!

The North-side broadbean patch - slowly creeping up.

The Mexican sage is still probably the prettiest plant in the garden (sorry marigolds, but you ain't got nothing on these guys...)

Look at the size of that
Chilacoyote!! The hills hoist is completely submerged - periscope and all!!

And here's one of the fruits - we're saving this one for seed. Hey Adrian and Cat - did you see where it's grown over the fence and is producing another huge squash on the peach tree of ouyr Greek neighbours?

A cauli head emerging in the front brassica patch.

Our most mature broad beans in Dan's quadrant of the keyhole bed. Still a ways off though.

The above mentioned front brassica patch - yes - these photos are all mixed up in order!

Random back garden photo.

One happy Meyer lemon tree!

The circular brassica forest.

The ducks enjoying a morning bath.

Chilacoyote?? is that quite similar to a winter squash or perennial squash?? I have a perennial squash that's travelled metres and metres and metres in different directions around the garden, only had one fruit last year (that i found!)which was it's first year and not sure how many there will be this year.

Hey Yvonne,
Chilacoyote is a kind of winter squash - we've had about 40 or 50 fruit from ours and it's still spitting them out. A great plant - produces mountains of food and biomass and is a great shade provider during late summer. Though now it is a tricky tradeoff - do we want more solar access or more squash? Apparently chilacoyote is used to make some kind of sweet dessert in South America - we'll have to track that recipe down!
Best,
Dan
WOW! i am so impressed at your winter growth! I came to the open day- very inspiring. I think u sell some seeds... would you do it over the net ? i would love some of those Chilacoyote. IS it a annual/biannual? And do you have the plans for that most awsome chook/duck pen?
